The garden, a living world in the throes of eco-responsible change.

Review of the JdC Garden Trends 2025: Innovation in the service of the living world
The JdC Garden Trends trade show, a not-to-be-missed event for the entire garden sector, has once again proved its dynamism and capacity for innovation. This year's edition, 2025, highlighted a number of key trends, particularly in the areas of eco-responsibility and the circular economy, reflecting a growing awareness of sustainable development within the sector. The winners of the Collections Awards illustrated this trend with environmentally-friendly products: Ecovizio by JardiLine, made from recycled milk bottles; mulching made from reused hazelnut shells by Evadea; egg cartons made from eggshells by Ecodis; and a 100% natural soya-based gel fertiliser. DCM's Bloom won two awards for its commitment. Other noteworthy innovations included the Lilly baby swing seat made from recycled PE by Soulet of the Cerland group, and Granuplant, a pumice-based mulch developed by Compo.

Eco-responsibility is now an integrated standard in manufacturing and distribution processes. This observation is reinforced by the expectations of the younger generation, as Manuel Rucar, from trends consultancy Chlorosphère, pointed out during the opening conference. The consumers of today and tomorrow are looking for transparency, advice, values and meaning. They already account for 40% of garden centre shoppers and generate 45% of spending in these channels.

Faced with these new expectations, the issue of the attractiveness of the garden and pet shop professions is becoming essential. Thomas Le Rudilier, General Delegate of the Fédération des Jardineries et Animaleries de France, pointed out that the sector offers a wide range of career prospects, in which experience, training and personal commitment are the keys to progress. Combining these opportunities with meaningful missions is a major asset in attracting the younger generation. Guillaume Bousquet, from Jardinerie Tarnaise, adds: “We have to manage differently: give more freedom and responsibility, without losing sight of consistency. It's a question of dosage.”

The garden is above all a living space. It embodies sharing, the transmission of knowledge and the interconnection between man and nature. Like any good gardener who looks after the growth of his plants, the entire industry is committed to cultivating a sustainable future.

With 1,200 buyers, 365 exhibitors and 25,000 m² of exhibition space, this 2025 edition kept all its promises. We look forward to seeing you at the next edition on 24, 25 and 26 March 2026, at the same venue, with the same ambitions!
